Our environment is in safe hands
As a producer of hazardous waste you will be aware that you have a duty and a legal obligation to ensure that your waste is collected, handled, treated, recycled and disposed of correctly.
C. Soar & Sons (UK) Ltd has a proven track-record for its expertise and excellence in offering a seamless quality service to maximise the re-use and recycling of electrical waste to minimise the impact on the environment.
On average we collect in excess of 10,000 tonnes of redundant electrical equipment from sites across the UK every year. Of this, nearly 98% is dismantled and recycled, meaning only 2% of waste generated at our premises is sent for landfill - no other operator in our industry can boast such a high recycling rate.
- Waste Carrier and Broker Reg No. CBDU83143
- Environmental Permit No. EPR/TP3396EG
Our facilities are specially designed and built to prevent environmental contamination. The yard is fully concreted with perimeter bund walls and dedicated high risk bund areas, meaning there is no possibility of leakage into the ground or water courses.
We have the facility to remove, store and process 160,000 litres of used insulating oil. All tanks are inspected regularly by the Environment Agency and we are proud to have the lowest EA OPRA score rating in our industry.
We also have the most comprehensive and up-to-date Environmental Permit in the industry, taking full account of all the latest standards such as the WEEE and the Hazardous Waste Regulations.
The company operates within its UKAS certified ISO14001 environmental management system.
Distribution and transport
Our entire fleet of HGV’s have reduced pollution certificates and Euro 5/6 engines to minimise their impact on the environment. We have calculated that this has reduced our carbon footprint to that of a small mini-cab business operating in the local area.
All drivers are trained under the Carriage of Dangerous Goods Regulations 2004, and C. Soar & Sons (UK) Ltd are one of only a small handful of companies in the UK that are approved and authorised by HMRC as a bonded oil distributor.
We are a registered waste carrier and broker, which allows us to collect all types of waste, including hazardous waste such as transformers and switchgear.
